Calvin’s Undisputed Truth: “Preacher For Hire”

See wealth is not top on Gods priority list

“Because thou sayest I am rich, and increased in goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked” (Revelation 3:17)

Riches can be a snare to some people, because they allow it to become their God. In the Bible, Samuel sons got caught up in this.

“And it came to past, when Samuel was old, that he made his sons judges over Israel. And his sons walked not in his ways, but turned aside after lucre, and took bribes, and perverted judgment” (Samuel I 8:1-3)

This was an example of what money can do if it falls in the wrong hands; this story along with other tales about wealth and riches all over the Bible.

“For as much then as we are the off spring of God, we ought not to think that the Godhead is like unto gold. or silver, or stone, or graven by man’s device. And at times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men everywhere to repent” (Acts 17:29-30)

Now you can’t love money as you already know.

“But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lust; which drown men in destruction and perdition. For the love of money is the root of all evil; which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows” (Timothy I 6:9-10)

My brothers and sister in the Lord beware of the crook in the pulpit.
