Chicago Bears Keep Great Linebacker Tradition Alive and Acquire Khalil Mack from Raiders

BTN STAFF

The Chicago Bears have been known some of the best linebackers in NFL history. That list includes Dick Butkus, Mike Singletary, Brian Urlacher and Lance Briggs. Now they hope to keep that tradition alive with the acquisition of linebacker Khalil Mack. The former Oakland Raiders pass rusher has been named to first team All-Pro in 2015 and was named NFL Defensive Player of the year in 2016. According to sources, Mack contract extension with the Bears is the highest ever for a defensive player. That deal is reported to be worth $141 million for 6 years. That deal includes $90 million in guaranteed money and a $60 million in bonus money. In return for receiving Mack, the Bears will give the Raiders it’s 2019 first round pick. It will also give them their 2020 first round pick, 2020 third round pick, and a 2019 sixth round pick.  Hopefully, Khalil Mack will pan out and become the next great linebacker for the Chicago Bears.
