Colin Kaepernick is trying to serve two masters and it will not work

Does he really think that them White billionaire owners will let him trot back into their league and become a distraction to their multi-billion dollar business? Does he really think that they have made amends with their inner conscious and truly have become sympathetic and supportive of the rights of Black folks? Everyone should know, that the NFL, and almost every other corporation and business had to say/and/or do something after the intense climate following the George Floyd murder. Their efforts were aligned with business and public relations to ensure that the dollars will still flow in from everywhere.

I’m sure Kaepernick, has been aware of the events that have transpired after his departure and how they have contributed to his unemployment. Hell, they are the same events that were happening while he was in the NFL, which is why he took the position he took in the first place. It was a noble stance by the brother, but I become somewhat unsure of his motive when says things like “When I first took a knee, my jersey went to No. 1.” According to The Jasmine Brand, he said “When I did the deal with Nike, their value increased by $6 billion. So if you’re talking about the business side, it shows beneficial. If you’re talking about the playing side, come in, let me compete. You can evaluate me from there.”

When I hear that quote from Kapernick, I think about a Bible scripture that says: No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon. Matthew 6:24

It is evident to me and a lot of other people that Kap has a deep love for the game of football. Most professional athletes start off playing their respective sport at a young age. To reach the highest level of competition after years of hard work usually for those people is a dream come true. However, when you take the stance that Kap took, it puts you on the other side of the fence.

Unfortunately, the ability to make it back to the NFL was depleted when Kapernick decided to publically stand on the side of justice. At this point, it’s not about business, or football, it’s about the people.
