Former WNBA player Chamique Holdsclaw pleads guilty to assault

Holdsclaw was arrested in March for smashing the windows of a Range Rover belonging to WNBA player Jennifer Lacy. Holdsclaw broke the driver’s side window, rear passengers’ window and rear window before taking a gun out and firing a shot into the Range Rover.

Holdsclaw will not face any jail time but was sentenced to three years’ probation along with paying a $3,000 fine, Atlanta District Attorney Paul Howard said.

Holdsclaw played 12 seasons in the WNBA before retiring in 2010.

According to the terms of the plea agreement, Holdsclaw must avoid violent contact with the victim, complete anger management treatment, and perform 120 hours of community service speaking with youth about depression, overcoming adversity and the consequences of one’s actions,” Howard said in an emailed statement. “She must also relinquish all firearms.”
