Gil Scott Heron ‘The Godfather of Rap’ died on May 27th, 2011 at age 62. He was most known for his song ‘The Revolution will not be Televised’ which title turned into a catchphrase that transcended generations.

Gil Scott was musician, poet, author, and activist. His music was sampled repeatedly mainly by Hip Hop artist who consider him one of the fore fathers of the music. His spoken word was a blend of social and political commentary, humor, truth and history.
