Grind Corner: Que Billah

BTN: You have an impressive resume when comes to live shows. Name me some of the people you opened up for?

Q.B:  I opened up for people such as Elephant Man, Wu Tang Clan, Twista, Beatnuts, Wiz Khalifa, Ludacris, and J Davey. Rah Digga Pac Div. I’m sure I’m forgetting some, but yeah those are a few.

BTN: Any advice for other artists out there doing their thing?

Q.B:  The most important thing is the music. You can sell a billion CD’s but if the music ain’t there it don’t matter. Make the music; if u pushing the music make sure u have something else right after it; you got to put effort everyday. It was like I was out the grind every night, going to clubs selling CD’s, and I would sleep all day and I would never be in the studio. It was like man I keep pushing these CD’s, but then I ain’t got anything new. And in this day and age, you got to always have something new, like you got to keep feeding the people. So I would say the first thing is to make the music first, before you get out here trying to push something, make sure you making the music. And as soon you push something, make sure you actually got something else ready to drop, or almost ready to drop or good time table thereafter. And then I would say to the people that want to get in this game. If you can’t do something everyday, you got to do something everyday towards your goal; everyday towards your music. Now it doesn’t have to be recording; it could be sending an email to try to get on a show, or calling someone looking for studio time. Man you got to put forth effort everyday, you got to do something. If it’s days that you go without putting forth effort toward your goal, then you as might as well hang it up.
