Over the years, a couple of Hip Hop artist have described their love affair with the culture and music of Hip Hop in the same way that one might express their love for a woman, or someone that they have deep affection for. Most recently DJ Khaled featured a song simply called “Hip Hop” that featured Scarface and Nas, where Scarface spits “she used to tell me she was all mine…. now the only time I see the broad is online.”  Perhaps the most famous rap song that deals with this subject matter is Common’s “I Used to Love Her” which has inspired several spin-off songs and even was the basis for the movie “Brown Sugar.”
