The event will be emceed by actor/comedian David Koechner, who is starring in the Atlanta-filmed “Anchorman 2.”
Monae recently dazzled a sold-out crowd at The Tabnernacle with her soulful funk-pop and James Brown-inspired dance moves. The Kansas City, Kan., native established her career in Atlanta and is currently riding the success of her latest album, “The Electric Lady,” one of the best of the year. Monae’s steller year also included being named Billboard’s Women in Music “Rising Star” and Atlanta Magazine’s 2013 Musician of the Year.
