Keshia Knight Pulliam talks about Pregnancy, Family, and Transitioning from Comedy to her Thriller Role in The Hillsdale Adoption Scam

Therefore, I’m going to take my time and present them one by one and let you get the full impact of my experience. Now, let’s get started with the first movie which is called The Hillsdale Adoption Scam. It stars Keshia Knight Pulliam who I grew up watching in her role as Rudy Huxtable on The Cosby Show. For some that are younger than me, you probably know her from her role as Miranda on Tyler Perry’s House of Payne. Either way, she has been a fixture on television since she was a child.

The movie is inspired by the true events of couples who are unable to have more kids and look for outside help to extend their family. Keshia’s character (Bethany) thinks it is a blessing when she meets Georgia played by Danika Frederick who is pregnant and looking for help. Bethany convinces her husband that they should adopt Georgia’s unborn child. It sounds like a good idea until things go left, and they find out unsettling and devious things about Georgia.

Keshia and Danika were both present at the press conference and they talked about the script and how some couples go through similar real-life dramas. Check out their answers with So Unique Magazine.

The ladies joked about how in real life it was the opposite of their characters on the screen. Danika doesn’t have kids, so she had to wear a prosthetic belly for the role. While Keshia is very much pregnant in real life and had to hide her pregnancy on the screen. Check out their answers to Suzanne from TV Med.

Keshia, who is now 43 years old, went into detail about how important it was to take this role despite wanting to take some time off during her pregnancy. Check out her answer to Nu Life Media and 107.9.

In accepting the role, Keshia talked about the emotion she put in while tackling a different type of character she is accustomed to playing. This was her answer to Endless Report.

I also thought it was cool, that during Women’s History Month, Keshia took the time to acknowledge her mom who she has credited with being the biggest source of inspiration and role model. Listen to her salute her while speaking with Chris Brenther.

Stay tuned for part two of my Lifetime Virtual Press Conference where I will be sitting with Tamala Jones, Brian White, and Jackée Harry. And check out The Hillsdale Adoption Scam on March 18th at 8 pm on Lifetime.
