The town of Maywood is known for being the home of former NBA players such as Michael Finley, Doc Rivers, Shannon Brown, and Dee Brown. Now a small footnote can be added to the town’s history. The current mayor of Maywood Nathaniel George Booker, 37, was found intoxicated behind the wheel of his car. Officers found him asleep in his car in the middle of the expressway and blocking traffic of cars behind him. in the middle outbound lane around 1:30 a.m. Friday near Halsted Street, police said. He faces a misdemeanor count of driving under the influence of alcohol and was cited for obstructing drivers on a highway, Chicago police said. To read more about this story click here.
