Mistaken For Strangers Sets U.S. Theatrical Premiere

The National were nominated for “Best Alternative Album” in the 56th Annual GRAMMY® Awards airing January 26th. Formed in 1999, the band has released six studio albums including The National and Sad Songs For Dirty Lovers. In 2004 they signed to Beggars Banquet releasing the critically acclaimed Alligator which features breakout anthem “Mr. November.” The album led the band to tour worldwide developing a passionate international fan base. Boxer reached an even wider audience with songs like “Fake Empire” which went on to be used in the 2008 Obama Presidential Campaign. In Mistaken For Strangers the audience glimpses the juggernaut of the band’s 2010 release High Violet, an album that sold over 600,000 copies. Their latest release Trouble Will Find Me debuted at #3 on Billboard’ s Top 200, marking their largest first week of sales to date. The success of Trouble Will Find Me reached new audiences through appearances on The Colbert Report, All Things Considered, The Mindy Project, Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, Jimmy Kimmel Live! The Late Show with David Letterman, Conan and more.
