Mixtape Review: Alias John Brown Presents: “Retribution”

I got an instant head nod when I heard the first track on Alias John Brown mix-tape; “Retribution: Street Campaign.”

A Lauryn Hill sample played throughout the first track called “Life” while AJB recites Melle Mel classic hook from the message “It’s like a jungle sometimes; it makes me wonder, how I keep from going under.”  The track features Akil, who also produced the track. I thought it was good way to start the CD, but I was kind of hoping the bass line from the original song would have drop, or any bass line, but I still dug it.
