After a brief delay, G Herbo hit the stage and gave the crowd a full dose of his music. He started out by performing his version of Chief Keef’s “Faneto.” He slid into a medley of songs that had the crowd in a frenzy. Check out the footage below.
There were murmurs that Moneybagg Yo wasn’t hitting the stage, but soon enough, the lights went down and he appeared. He immediately kicks it off with his hits like ‘side-chick and ‘lil baby.’ Moneybagg rocked the crowd, but he did spend a lot of time taking pictures and going on Snapchat. Other than that, I believe the crowd got their money’s worth and was satisfied. Check out the footage below.
I also wanted to note that I didn’t see any violence or confrontations at the venue. This is important to note because rap concerts sometimes fairly and unfairly get the reputation of being violent. This makes it hard for promoters to book artists because venues don’t want the violence at their place. This especially holds true for the crowds that come and see young street rappers like G Herbo and Moneybagg Yo.
Therefore I wanted to give props to the artists for conducting a peaceful and dope show. I wanted to shout out the security and Gary police officers who maintain the peace and didn’t overreact over minor incidents. Lastly, kudos to the young people who were there turning up and having fun. Sometimes that’s all they need, is a place to release their energy.
