Mount Westmore talks about their Supergroup and Preview Songs from New Album

Therefore, it was an honor to sit in his presence and hear him talk about the new “supergroup” he joined along with Snoop Dogg, E-40, and Too Short. Cube is no stranger to being a part of a successful and famous Hip Hop group. He started his career with the legendary group NWA and was also a part of Westside Connection with Mack 10 and WC.

However, this is different because each member of Mount Westmore is a veteran who has achieved legendary status in the world of music. Cube talked about that dynamic at the opening of the media listening session recently.

“I’ve been a part of three major groups in my career. NWA, West Side Connections, now my Westmore. And I think this is just a great thing for hip hop in general to show. And after 30 years, five years in the game, we all can still get together and form a group and do multiple albums together. And I just think it’s good for hip hop outside of just being huge for the West Coast. I think it’s huge for every coast. Cause if you could picture Mount EastMore MountSouthmore, you know, can kind of picture what could be done in the future with major artists is when they get together and do something like this”

Indeed, the formation of these four individuals is unprecedented in the world of Hip Hop and in music for that matter. All of the members, with the exception of Snoop Dogg, were at the media session and talked about what the public can expect from this new album from the group.

One of their first new singles off the album called “Too Big just dropped and Too Short let us know the vibe behind the song.

“It’s the song where we trade off bars the most. We all, everybody’s on every verse. So, it’s not like the format of one of us doing eight bars and the other one doing eight or we doing 16 bars and doing our own verse. This is because every verse is a group verse. So, gives it a little different vibe on that. Like you said, it’s a fun song. So, before we really start just being the OGs that we are, we wanna just have a little fun, big subs. A fun record, just a fun record. We kind of wanna break the ice a little bit and then we gonna get into it as a group. So, this is some more of the good vibes.”

The trio previewed five songs for the media, but the one that stood out for me was called “The Motto.”

The song was produced by Rick Rock and was just going hard musically and lyrically. “Motto. I mean it’s the tempo, the vibe, it’s the perfect platform,” said Too Short.   “E-40 set it off with the shit-talking tone and the rest of us just follow. So, I think it’s another one of the ones with the energy. That’s all I’m saying. We try to have a little energy; we have a little fun little shit talking spit a little game. This is one of the higher-energy shit-talking songs. So have fun with it when you hear it”
