There are four major giants that control the majority of popular sports in America. They are the National Football League (NFL), Major League Baseball (MLB), National Hockey League (NHL), and the National Basketball Association (NBA). The NFL has 32 teams; while the MLB, NHL and NBA each have 30 teams apiece. Out of those 122 teams, there is only one black person who has majority ownership and control of a franchise; his name is Michael Jeffery Jordan. The basketball icon bought the Charlotte Bobcats in 2010 from  B.E.T (Black Entertainment Television) founder Robert Johnson, who was the first black to seize control of a major sports franchise. The transaction also made Jordan the first former athlete, of any color, to become primary owner of a team.
