Peyton Manning Breaks NFL Record for Most Touchdown Passes in a Season

Manning notched 51 touchdowns on a 20-yard pass to Eric Decker in the fourth quarter against the Houston Texans, surpassing a record held by New England Patriots’ Tom Brady since 2007, NFL.com reports.

Manning previously held the title, with 49 passes since 2004.

Earlier this season, the 37-year-old Manning became the first quarterback since 1969 to throw seven touchdowns in a single game. In early December, Manning also broke an NFL record for most playoff appearances when Denver advanced to the postseason. The Bronco’s playoff run will mark Manning’s 13th trip to the playoffs.
