Black Truth News would like to send our condolences to the family, friends and associates of Phillip Jackson. He was the founder and executive director of the Black Star Project in Chicago. I never met Jackson personally (maybe I did, but I don’t remember) but he was consistently sending information to our website. His content was almost exclusively centered around the improvement of the people in the Black community. Economic, social and health empowerment is what he advocated primarily for the residents in the Chicago area.
Phillip was a graduate of Roosevelt University and National Louis University. He worked in human services in Chicago Office of Management Budget. He worked in Chicago Public Schools and was the CEO for the Chicago Housing Authority. Jackson also was the CEO for the Chicago Boys and Girls Club. Ultimately Jackson lost his battle with cancer and died on November 5th, 2018. We salute him for his work and legacy.
