However, things go left when some dark secrets that Simone harbor comes to the surface. When Monica tries to end the friendship, she notices the true intent of Simone’s so-called friendship. K. Michelle is the film and also Janet Hubert. I got a chance to sit in a press conference and hear the stars talk about their roles in the movie.
Amber Riley talked about what it took to get into her role as Simone. “I definitely watched Single White Female, I watched the original film, just to get a feel of what that character was going through. I also talked to the director to see what other direction we were going with the character. So it was a combination of watching the original film and also getting in tune with the character.”
Raven also talked about how she related to her character Monica. “Well I related to Monica because she lost her dad early in the film and I lost my dad a few months prior to filming; so I understood the grieving process. So I knew what that day-to-day process was like when you are trying to pursue professional excellence.”
K. Michelle wasn’t present at the press conference but Janet Hubert who plays Raven’s mom in the film talked about working with the rising stars. “It was amazing, everyone was giving, kind and it was such a joy working these ladies.”
