Many Hip Hop fans grew up on this music and still remember the energy that surrounded the music and lyrics. This was evident in 2022 when some of these artists came together to embark on a tour called “Legendz of the Streetz.”
The tour went through various cities throughout the Southern and Midwestern parts of the country to give fans some of the classic music of their era.
I got a chance to witness one of the shows firsthand in St. Louis Missouri. The scene was Chaifetz Arena in the heart of the “Lou.” The place was packed, the streets were electric and the show was good.
Things kicked off with a performance by Trina. The “305” princess or the self-proclaimed “Baddest Chick” went through a medley of her hits that has made her one of memorable female rappers of all time. Trina put on a show that came with a sexy outfit and backup dancers.
Following Trina was the founder of the Brick Squad 1017, Mr. Gucci Mane. The rapper who has made himself into an icon didn’t waste any time getting on stage and doing his things. Going through some of the songs that he featured on and transitioning to his solo classics.
