Rusty Jabbz New York Hip Hop Review>> #15

rusty 430Its 12:02pm now, I’m on my way to meet up with my homie, Tex at Penn Station. I got to take this time to shout out my homegurl of the last 15 years, Michelle B-More; who I ran into at Penn station on my way there. We added on for the journey to Rock steady, it would have been nice Michelle if you scored some pull to get me and my peeps backstage. That’s alright though you still cool with me and we’re still going to have a ball, regardless.

It’s that last weekend in July, where everyone looks forward to “ROCKSTEADY WEEKEND!!!”

Today is, Rocksteady’s 34th Anniversary. I can’t believe I’m older than Rocksteady. I’m looking at it from a perspective when you see yourself older than an iconic hip hop organization, even if it’s only by two years. Being born in 1975, I never thought about something as such; growing up alongside a Legendary Hip Hop Dance Crew/ Organization.

The line-up at today’s Rocksteady’s Anniversary is supposed to be sick. Word on the net…. groups/ artists like EPMD, Natural Elements, Dysfunkshunal Familee, The Cold Crush Bros, Neek The Exotic and Large Professor, Keith Murray, Wise Intelligent, Grand Daddy I. U., Black Rob, Jean Grae, Q-Unique, Rahzel, Pacewon, Govmatic and a few other names on the card. It’s going to be an exciting day.

Just love the way the park is hooked up with street merchants and food vendors. I got to give a shout to Newark Police dept., which are out here in control of the perimeter and securing our safety. Every day we watch the news and we hear negative and violent things about Newark, New Jersey. Standing out here, right now I do not feel nor do I sense any form of violence in this community. Today is a day of love, peace, happiness and HIP HOP!!! rusty 43011

Even though there were numerous occasions where I left my place at the front row of the stage; I was still able to retrieve my place back in that same position, which is something that seldom happens specifically in New York. In New York, if you attend a free concert once you move, you lose. It’s not that easy finding another spot where you’ll be able to shoot the same footage from where you were once standing. Out here in New Jersey, everything is a lil’ smoother, well, somewhat smoother. It was not smooth when I kept receiving the constant hits and bumps of the people walking behind me during my recordings. I apologize to everyone viewing, www.youtube.com/worldwidejabbz

I’ll do my best with the editing and I hope you’ve enjoy the work I laid out.
