Rusty Jabbz New York Hip Hop Review> Issue #13

I’m attempted to stop by the Fort Greene Park and see what’s poppin’ down there this year. I went last year with Common, as the headliner and Malik Yoba and Rosie Perez were the host and hostess of the event. I still have those recordings on file but haven’t posted it to my site as of yet. Anyway those files are cold now. If I do decide to go I’ll make sure to post whatever footage I receive to my page.

I decided to go out to the Fort Greene Festival, after all. The park was crowded; dam near every spot on the grass was covered. If it wasn’t covered with feet it was covered with blankets from people camping out observing the show. Who can forget the mass amount of vendors squatted around the park serving all kinds of food; people of all ethnic backgrounds just chowing down.

Upon my arrival to the park, Res was performing. After Res’s performance Rahzel came on. I’m standing in the park not quite sure of any schedule. I arrived mid-day, not realizing that the concert is almost over. Up next, after Rahzel was Mos Def. Not to sound like a groupie or anything, or have send any type of disrespect towards Res and Rahzel performances I had no interests or no concern. Mos Def is the one I came to see, but, before Mos Def we’ve got a chance to witness a long time performance from Medina Green. They did a quick opening set for Mos Def.
