In a closely contested election, Senator Raphael Warnock (D) defeated former football star Herschel Walker (R) for the Georgia Senate race. Warnock who is the pastor at Dr. King’s former Atlanta Ebenezer Baptist Church won the election with 51.2 percent of the vote to the Republican’s 48.8 percent.
