Even if you are not a sports fan, you probably still are familiar with Stephen A. Smith. He is the loud Black guy on ESPN who has gained notoriety for his aggressive, and sometimes controversial views on sports and athletes. At the moment, he is probably the most recognizable sports analyst in the country. His rise to the top hasn’t been by accident, he has been covering sports through print, radio, and television for almost 30 years. Throughout the years he has been criticized for some of his comments regarding sports and other social issues. It seems his number one detractors have been Black people. Specifically Black athletes.
