Lanez, 30 years old, has been out on bail and was immediately led to jail after the verdict was read. Obviously, this outcome will not only change his life but alter his career path. It’s not sure how long he will be in prison, but it’s possible it could lead to up to 22 years in prison and deportation when he’s sentenced on Jan. 25.
Lanez might not be like Drake another Canadian artist, but his musical career has been trending in the right direction. On September 30th, he released an album Sorry 4 What’ which landed the Number 10 spot for overall sales in its first week.
Though it is rare, sometimes an artist may sustain or even increase their popularity after being incarcerated. I’m not sure if will this be the situation with Lanez but in this case not only his career but the alleged victim Megan Thee Stallion. Although, Megan 27-year-old has been quite successful before and since the incident, she has faced criticism from various people. In November of 2022, she went on social media to address rappers and folks on the internet who have questioned the validity of her claims.
Stop using my shooting for clout bitch ass Niggas! Since when tf is it cool to joke abt women getting shot ! You niggas especially RAP NIGGAS ARE LAME! Ready to boycott bout shoes and clothes but dog pile on a black woman when she say one of y’all homeboys abused her

Even though it turned out to be true that Lanez got convicted of the crimes, he still got a lot of support. There is a faction of his fans and random people who didn’t think he committed the crime. Their support for him might turn into a lack of support for Megan. Either way, it is clear that this crime has and forever will change their lives.
