What’s the value in owning a T.V?

I haven’t owned a television in about three years. My old one went out; I never replaced it, and never missed it. It wasn’t just the government mandated a purchase of digital convertor box and my belief that this mandate was unfairly targeted towards the poor, or the outrageous cable bill prices, that made me ditch T.V. It was also bad programming, bad shows and a lack of diversity amongst the actors and actress on air that made me say adios.
