The twisted history of American politics and the African-American community is one that has often been submerged solely in the thought that the color of our skin binds us together above and beyond all other political topics. Therefore, it is not surprising to note that African-Americans have slowly rocked like a ship at sea back and forth between U.S. political policies and groups that supposedly benefit those at the lower end of the economic ladder and emotionally appeal to the plights of minorities and working classes citizens during election season.
