Why do we care about Michael Sam?

I’m not suggesting that Michael Sam shouldn’t make the announcement, nor am I suggesting for him to hide or suppress his individuality that he uses to define his sexuality. I’m simply dismissing the historical significance of the announcement as it pertains to the rest of society who is not gay. I get the impact the announcement may have on a young man or woman who is struggling with their sexuality and individuality.  I get the impact the announcement may have on someone who is gay but are afraid to tell their friends and family.  I get that part of the deal.

I just don’t understand the media propaganda that isolates and highlights every thing that openly gay person does. On the other hand, I don’t understand the prejudice and discrimination towards a person who is gay. I believe gay people should have the same rights everyone else has, and not should be discriminated against in any way in regards to their mandatory human rights and privileges granted to the citizens of their respective countries. No one should be discriminated based on any criteria in my opinion; I believe we are all equal in God’s eyes.

The ultimate judgment comes from God himself and he stated he will reward people based on their works. “And behold, I come quickly and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be.” (Revelation 22: 12)

But what job has God required us to do as human beings? What type of work do you have to do in order to qualify for your judgment?
