Artist Spotlight (01/12/15) >>> Cash Lansky Interview with Blacktruth.net

What can we expect next from you and your career?

You can expect hard work from me if nothing else. I have a tape dropping here soon. I have a couple tour dates coming up which I’m real excited about. Talking with bookings at SXSW. That’s just the first few months of next year.  Expect to start seeing a lot more of Cash Lansky.
How does the Tucson rap scene differ from the Phoenix rap scene? Who are the major players? What’s the vibe?

Tucson definitely has a much smaller scene than Phoenix. With us being so small, I think cats started to see that if we worked together we could make more noise. You have your Honor Roll Gang your Jivin Scientists, Marley B, The Kennedys, Shonuff… the list goes on. The vibe right now is about building, pushing, and motivating.
How do you feel you’re received as an African-American indie rapper in a scene where they rappers are increasingly white?

I honestly don’t pay attention to it. Good music is good music. There will always be politics with that. If you get caught up in it, I feel you will get lost. I feel, if people don’t like the music I make they will at least respect the person I am.
