Point Guards

Stephen Curry

I usually start picking my roster by selecting a big man first. However I think Stephen Curry has change the pecking order this year from center to point guard. I think without a doubt he is playing better basketball than anybody In the NBA right now. But I still don’t think he is the best player in the NBA.

What I like most about Curry, is he makes people like me, who love to say something good and then follow it up by saying “but,” eat their words.  People say things like: He has a flame jumper but he can’t shoot 50 percent from the 3pt stripe all season. His team won the championship but everybody they played was injured. It goes on and on.

His team record start has already created talk that they will beat the Chicago Bulls all time win record this year. I beg the different, but once again that’s probably me being on the road side of the track. Despite what I think, if Curry repeats his MVP, championship performance from last year, along with breaking Jordan and the Bulls record in the process. He will not only be the best player in the NBA but one of the best in the history of the game. And it will be no if, and buts about it.

Russell Westbrook

2015-16 Season

Ok I know I just said Stephen Curry is the best point guard in the NBA. But I’m going to keep it all the way funky. Despite Curry’s dominant season and incredible skill set; I will still pick Westbrook over him in a draft. And it is just not just my personal preference of Westbrook ferocious rim attack over Curry’s jumpers. I got some numbers to back it up too. Even though Curry is leading the league in scoring and third in steals; Westbrook is right behind him at second in scoring and fourth in steals. In addition to that, Westbrook is second in the NBA in assist and averages 7.5 rebounds. You may ask why I don’t have this dude as number one and I would say this. The fact that Curry was MVP of the league (deservingly so) and his team won the championship, kind put him over the top. Not to mention he is underrated rebounder and defender. One of my dreams is to see these two great point guards go head to head in a playoff series.
