Federal Judge Orders Pharmaceutical Company Johnson & Johnson to Pay for Opioid Distribution in Oklahoma

A huge pharmaceutical was ordered to pay $572 million in fines for its role in the opioid crisis in Oklahoma. According to commondreams.org, between 2006 and 2012, Johnson & Johnson flooded Oklahoma with enough opioids to supply every resident with 100 pills in some areas.  “The opioid crisis has ravaged the state of Oklahoma,” federal judge Thad Balkman said before handing out the verdict.
