After nine months of running, a fugitive wanted for the attempted murder of two Detroit children who were left to die in a burning house has been arrested in California by U.S. Marshals.
According to the U.S. Marshals Service, Julius Coleman 32, was caught Monday in Lancaster, Calif. following a brief foot chase. He is wanted for holding a Detroit family hostage during a November break-in that escalated into a barricaded gunman situation and then a fire that nearly killed two children.
According to the U.S. Marshals, Coleman and another man broke into a house on Detroit’s east side and held a family with two small children hostage. When Detroit police arrived, a shot was fired inside the house, prompting a barricaded gunman situation.
