Four Men Found Guilty Of Olympian Tyson Gay’s Daughter’s Death

“I just hope something positive comes out of this situation,” Tyson Gay said in a statement. “I really believe our prosecutors did a great job…I’m proud that my daughter got some justice.”

The four men were identified as Chazerae Taylor, 40, D’Markeo Taylor, 21, Lamonte Williams, 23, and D’Vonta Middlebrooks, 23. Chazerae Taylor was found guilty of wanton murder, while the other three men were booked with wanton endangerment. That charge means their actions put other innocent young people in the line of fire.

The incident occurred On Oct. 16, 2016, at a Cook Out establishment in Lexington, Kentucky. Trinity was with friends at the time and was not a target of the convicted men. The young girl died shortly after being transported to University of Kentucky Chandler Hospital. The teenager was also a track star like her father and attended the same high school, Lafayette High, where she was acclaimed for her prowess on the track and in the classroom.
