I was asking other artists here in Sacramento about the influence other cities in the Bay, like Oakland have you guys sound. Do you feel there is a different vibe here in Sacramento than it is in other cities in the Bay?
Well it’s kind of hard asking me that, because I am from the Bay area. Like I grew up in San Jose, went to high school in Fairfield. So I would say that my sound is originated from the Bay area; but I been in Sacramento for 10 years. And here where my music is really start to take off. I’m influenced by both places. I represent the Bay area; but Sacramento is like a second home to me. They took me in and embraced what I do. I feel like my sound comes from both.
From the outside looking in, do you feel like there a different vibe in Sacramento than in the Bay?
There is definitely a different vibe here in Sacramento than it is in the Bay. I mean each artist is different; I feel you really can’t categorize what a Sacramento artist sound like versus what a Bay area artist sound like. I have heard artists here in Sacramento who had sort of Bay area swag. Then I heard people in the Bay area who don’t have that typical sound going on. They both have their own sound; but each artist different. I think they are both influence by each other; maybe Sacramento more so by the Bay.
Do you think moving around to different places makes your music more acceptable to different people?
I personally try to be original as possible; I don’t want to sound like nobody else. I always have had a signature sound. You know the atmosphere might have a little to do with it, but you know my style stands out. I want to be different.
What is your main motivation for creating music?
I like the good vibe I receive when I put pieces together. I think that’s my purpose; to promote good vibes. There is a lot of negativity that’s going on. I like to have a good time and 99 percent of my music is about living and enjoying life. My motivation defiantly comes from my family. They give me that push I need to get out there and go.
