I’m tired of seeing Black People Protest

However, when I considered the alternative of dealing with White companies and corporations who not only don’t respect our business but demean us; I’m willing to shop with Black businesses. To me, it seems backward to not shop with Black owners but complain about mistreatment from White owners. In general, it seems a little hypocritical when some Black folks call out other Blacks who don’t protest. I hear people call each other coons and sell-outs simply because they choose not to boycott the NFL or use a product they consider racist. Then on the other hand turn around and don’t support Black businesses.

I don’t want it to seem like I’m pointing the finger at anyone, I’m just confused about the state of affairs within our community. Like I said I’m not totally condemning protesting. I feel like it could be effective tool for change if applied with other methods of resistance. Overall, it seems like the proper solution is just as old as the problem. And the dissension within our race about what ways to accomplish those solutions, usually leaves us back at square one. The lack of unity and the difficulty surrounding us escaping our circumstances sometimes gives me a defeatist attitude. After so many years of oppression and grief, I wonder if we are destined to remain in this position.

I’m starting to agree with some people who have stated that the curses mentioned In the Bible is directly associated to Black people. In the Bible it says  “But it shall come to pass, if thou wilt not hearken unto the voice of the Lord thy God, to observe to do all his commandments and his statutes which I command you this day; that all these curses shall come upon thee, and overtake thee.

It also states that but this is a people robbed and spoiled; they are all of them snared in holes, and they are hid in prison houses: they are for a prey, and none delivereth; for a spoil, and none saith, Restore

I’m not trying to push the Bible or religion on anyone, because the truth is that Black folks are divided on that also. What I am pushing for is suggestions, communication and results. And maybe talking about this will create more dialogue in how we can accomplish those things. If you have any ideas, feel free to share them. What do you think about protesting? Do you feel it is effective in creating change in the Black community? Leave your comments below

  1. I understand your point of view bro, but we need people to protest to bring(change) awareness to a very flawed judicial system. I’m in agreement with you black ownership, you know spend black dollars with black business.
