This past October, long before they knew they would be playing in the Super Bowl, a group of four Seattle Seahawks players and two coaches put together a video titled “The Making of a Champion”.
In the video Seattle Seahawks Quarterback Russell Wilson discusses a dream he had when he was 14 years old.
“I had a dream one night I was at UVA football camp,” Wilson says, “I had a dream that my dad passed away and that Jesus came into the room and he was just basically knocking on my door saying: ‘Hey, you need to find out more about me.’ So that Sunday morning I ended up going to church and that’s when I got saved.” Later in the video Wilson adds, “I realized that God had given me so many talents that I wanted to give him all the glory.” –
Wilson’s story is told along with other Seattle players and coaches sharing tales of their faith journeys and experiences.
The video was released in October in conjunction with a Twitter account and website that assists Washington state residents in locating a church.
The Twitter account features a tweet that says, “Thank you for all the support you have given #moac we are excited for what God is doing on the Seahawks team! Super Bowl here we come!”
