Kevin Durant Won the Championship but is Acting like a Loser

Even though KD won the championship last season, it seems he hasn’t elevated above being petty. Over the summer, he has been doing things that give the impression that he still has something to prove to people. He recently released his new Nike sneakers that addresses his “haters”. He put his list of accomplishments in the inside of the shoe.  It’s like KD is fighting an imaginary enemy.

In my opinion, the enemy is staring Durant in the mirror. It’s not so much that people are talking about Kevin Durant. It’s the notion that he feels that those people are telling the truth. He can’t shake the facts that surround his departure from OKC. He left the team without consulting Russell Westbrook, someone that he publicly called his little brother. He proceeded to go to a team that him and Westbrook played the year before and lost against. That Golden State Warriors team came back from 3-1 deficit and beat OKC. That team had already had the best regular season record of all time. That Warriors team had already won the championship team without KD. The bottom line is he needed them, more than they needed him.

Winning a championship doesn’t change that scenario and maybe that what has KD pissed. He wants to convince people that he is a winner and not someone who just hopped on to a winning team.  The truth is that the Warriors did need him to beat the Cavs and LeBron James. However to be a champion, you have to act like one. And at this moment Kevin Durant is not conducting himself like a winner.
