L.A. Reid Accused Of Sexual Harassment By Female Assistant

According to The New York Post, Reid is accused of sexual harassing his former assistant. The news publication hasn’t revealed the alleged victim’s name. But, it’s reporting that she’s claiming that Reid made several sexual advances toward her, including one at Epic’s holiday party back in Dec. 2016.

These complaints were written in a letter drafted by the former assistant’s attorney, Joel Katz, and then presented to Sony Music’s General Counsel, Julie Swidler. The Post writes: “The female assistant, whose name The Post is withholding, also claims Reid, who has led Epic for nearly six years, also asked her to lie down in bed with him and give him a hug while the two were at a hotel while traveling on business, the letter alleges.”

It continues: “Reid, who is married, also made comments about what clothes he liked her to wear and described her as looking ‘fine,’ the letter claims.” In a short and sweet note sent to Sony/Epic’s entire staff, the label issued a statement about Reid’s exit. “L.A. Reid will be leaving the company,” the letter said. Sony has yet to make any further comment about the matter.

“We are not allowing a culture like that in this company,” one source close to the story told The Post, “no matter how much a person brings to the bottom line.”
