Upon releasing Tha Carter V, the album will mark the 10 year anniversary of Weezy’s long-standing series, after launching a hot streak for the ages on June 29, 2004 with the first installment. The run would produce classics like Carter II and allow the “Fireman” rapper to become one of the biggest rappers on the planet thanks to his 2008 benchmark, Tha Carter III.
With “Believe Me” recently hitting No. 1 and his single “Krazy” attracting attention, Weezy has the chance to lay yet another benchmark on the game with his new LP. And regardless of whether he does or not, like his XXL cover line reads, the YMCMB star has “nothing left to prove.”
No reason to be nervous.
