New Trend? High School Phenom Ditches NCAA To Play Basketball Overseas

skip college 2Emmanuel Mudiay is an athletic 6’5″ point guard, who was ranked the No. 5 player in the nation, and highly considered a one-and-done possibility. The source says that it is not about academics or money as much as about the NCAA and his reported amateurism issues.

“The NCAA is on him,” the source said. “And he’s worried.”

Under Armour is reportedly helping him land a lucrative deal overseas.

Could this become the new trend? The top-tier talent bypassing the NCAA altogether to play overseas?

It seems like a logical step, rather than fake it through a year of college, especially if its not a college you want to go to, and just go get paid. Who wouldn’t want to spend a year overseas, getting paid and getting ready for the NBA Draft?

One could debate Muiday should go to school, if that is what he was going to do, but for these guys just waiting to become eligible after one year it makes sense (and dollars).
