According to recent health studies, the interplay between poverty/lack and chaotic social environments can adversely affect the well being of young Blacks. In particular, the two have been cited as a major cause of high asthma rates among the Black urban demographic. In fact, these same studies suggest that a lack of finances and negative societal factors make Black kids twice as likely to suffer from asthma as their white peers.
