Damn: New York Politician George Santos has taken Compulsive Lying to a New Level

What I learned is that this man is a straight-up liar and a thief. He was elected to Congress on Nov. 8, 2022, after beating Democrat Robert Zimmerman for New York’s 3rd Congressional District. The two apparently made history by being the first two openly gay congressional candidates to go head-to-head (no pun intended) in a general election.

This seemed to be one of the first known lies from Santos, because some people, including his wife didn’t know he was gay. Santos was married to a woman named Uadla Santos Vieira Santos in 2012 but then started dating a man named Pedro Vilarva in 2014. Although he was dating a man, he didn’t file for divorce until 2019, 12 days before he officially filed his first congressional campaign.

It is quite possible that he was gay before he married the woman and just did it to fit the profile of a straight man. It is also possible, that he could be straight and just came out as gay to gain the support of the LGBTQ community. In regards to his sexuality, Santos said “I dated women in the past. I married a woman. It’s personal stuff.” He added that the relationship with the woman “got a little toxic.”

He continued by saying “I’m very much gay,” and “I’m OK with my sexuality. People change. I’m one of those people who change.”

What I discovered is the truth is always in question when talking about Santos.

He has openly confessed that he embellished his résumé to the point where he lied about where he went to high school, college, and the companies he worked for. “My sins here are embellishing my résumé. I’m sorry,” Santos told the New York Post. “I didn’t graduate from any institution of higher learning. I’m embarrassed and sorry for having embellished my resume,” he said. “I own up to that … We do stupid things in life.”

He also lied that he was Jewish and that his grandparents were Holocaust survivors. “I never claimed to be Jewish,” Santos said. “I am Catholic. Because I learned my maternal family had a Jewish background, I said I was ‘Jew-ish.’”

Then it has been documented that Santos was squatting in a Queens New York apartment.  “We were engulfed in debt,” he said. “We had issues paying rent at the time. It’s the vulnerability of being human. I am not embarrassed by it.” A judge ordered him to pay more than $12,000 to a former landlord who claimed non-payment of several months of rent — as well as that Santos had tried to pass a check that bounced. When asked if he paid the landlord, Santos admitted: “We didn’t pay it off. I completely forgot about it.”
