With the start of their promotion company; accompanied by their public display of brotherly love for each other, I got excited about the possibilities that could occur from these two brothers working and hanging together. Imagine how hard it is to come from poverty, to make it out the Ghetto and become a successful multi-millionaire. I can safely assume that this is not an easy task. So it makes it extremely rare that two black brothers, who have accomplished the task, decide to come together, combine their resources and create something bigger.

It makes it more interesting when they happen to be friends, and it makes it exciting when they happen to be two of the most recognizable figures in the world of sports and entertainment.

The fact that these two people are 50 Cent and Floyd Mayweather Jr. makes it an instant headline. On one hand, you may ask how they can coexist with each other.  How can they find a room big enough to hold their massive egos?

On the other hand, you may say it makes perfect sense because of those same reasons, their made for TV, and made for each other.  I agree with the latter, but not for the aforementioned reasons.

I was thinking it was more of because the two share a similar background and come from the same type of environment. 50 Cent come from a tough neighborhood in Queens New York, while comes from rough section in Flint Michigan. Both had parents who suffer from substance abuse, Floyd’s father and mother was hooked on drugs at some point in their life; while 50 who didn’t have a relationship with his father, also witnessed his mother go through a battle with drugs before passing away.

Not to mention the obvious, that both are under the age of 40, successful, and ambitious businessmen, with a lot of money, prestige and fame. You would think they would be able to talk about something right?

You would think they would be able to laugh at the pain and smile at the haters, and for a while, they were. You can see them hyping each other products, and events, walking down to the boxing ring together for Floyd’s matches, smiling on every picture, and seemingly enjoying each other company and friendship.
